The Series:
Dawn’s Choreography

Who knew a small black box
(aka my camera) could change my life?

After years of burnout, I felt disconnected from myself and the world around me.

Then I picked up my camera... and started seeing things differently.

The farther out I looked, the more vast life became. The closer I looked, the more intimate it became.

Maybe the world has been putting on a show all along. I just stopped long enough to see it.

Meet the Artist

One of the greatest gifts my parents ever gave me was curiosity. (I'll go more into detail on the "About the Artist" page, fear not.)

Somewhere along the way, that curiosity got buried beneath burnout, caregiving, nursing... just life.

Then I picked up a camera.

It felt like it was just me and the world through tunnel vision (not just referring to my camera lens here!), and suddenly the only thing that mattered was right in front of me.

Some people would call that mindfulness. I call it presence. I call it feeling alive.

My hope is that these photographs inspire you to step outside, stay curious, and reconnect with the wonder that's been there all along.
